Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-06

Acceptance

By downloading or using Freeup, you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). Where the two differ, the standard EULA governs your licence to the app and these terms govern everything else.

The service

Freeup is an iPhone app that measures the photos and videos in your photo library, shows you what is using space, and lets you compress large videos or move photos and videos you select to Recently Deleted. It works only with your photo library. It does not, and cannot, clean iOS "system", "other", cache or app storage, and it never claims a number it has not measured on your device.

Free and Pro

  • Free: scanning your library and seeing the breakdown is free, always. You can also free up to 500 MB by deleting, once, without paying.
  • Pro: removes the 500 MB limit and unlocks video compression. Pro is sold as an auto-renewing weekly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, billed through your Apple ID at the price shown in the app before you buy.
  • No free trial. There is no trial period and no introductory offer; the price you see is what you are charged when you confirm.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
  • Cancelling: open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Freeup, or App Store → your profile → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Restoring: Pro follows your Apple ID. On a new device, open the app → Settings → Restore purchases.
  • Refunds: purchases are made through Apple and refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
  • Price changes: if a subscription price increases, Apple notifies you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before the new price applies.

Your photos and videos

  • Your content is yours. Freeup claims no rights to your photos or videos, and it never uploads them: everything happens on your iPhone.
  • Nothing is deleted without you. Every deletion is of items you selected yourself, and iOS asks you to confirm each one before anything moves. There is no automatic cleanup.
  • Deleting in Freeup moves items to your iPhone's Recently Deleted album, where iOS keeps them for up to 30 days before removing them permanently. Until you empty Recently Deleted, the space is not yet free and the items can be recovered from the Photos app.
  • Compressing a video creates a new, smaller copy in your library that keeps the original's date, location, favourite status and albums; the original is moved to Recently Deleted only after the new copy has been verified. A compressed video has lower quality than the original by design. If you want to keep the original at full quality, do not compress it.
  • Freeup reads sizes, dates and thumbnails from your library to do its job and stores a small local log of what you kept and freed. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Acceptable use

Do not use Freeup to process content you have no right to, and do not reverse-engineer, resell or interfere with the app or its services.

No warranty

Freeup is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot guarantee it is error-free, uninterrupted or fit for every purpose. In particular, you are responsible for reviewing what you select before confirming a deletion or compression, and for keeping a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data, arising from use of the app; where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and the app points to the current version. Continued use after a change means acceptance. We may stop offering the app or a feature at any time; active subscriptions are then handled under Apple's policies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
